The crowning glory of the long Pentecost weekend: On June 6, 2022 (Pentecost Monday), Apple will be showing a lot of innovations at the start of the WWDC developer conference – both in the hardware and in the software area. It starts at 7 p.m. German time; beforehand, COMPUTER BILD summarizes all the rumors for you.
iOS 16: Not a revolution, but much better
The focus of the keynote at WWDC is likely to be the new iPhone operating system iOS 16. This probably offers improvements in the health functions and many tweaks “under the hood”. Apparently, Apple is not tweaking the design of iOS.
iPadOS 16: Focus on multitasking
The augurs also expect no groundbreaking innovations, but a lot of optimizations for iPadOS 16, the operating system for Apple’s tablets. Cupertino in particular has multitasking in mind and wants to spice up this function significantly. There might even be a “desk” with several program windows – we’re excited.
macOS 13: guesswork around the nickname
In addition to iOS and iPad OS, Apple traditionally always shows the first features of the upcoming operating system for its Macs and MacBooks at WWDC. It is not yet clear what makes macOS 13 better or different than its predecessor. There is also a lack of clarity about the nickname. Apple’s software guru Craig Federighi will probably call out a Californian natural sight as a nickname again.
watchOS 9: The Apple Watch just got healthier
Is a new Apple Watch coming on June 6, 2022? So far there have only been a few rumours. What is certain, however, is that Cupertino wants to reveal the first details about watchOS 9. The operating system for the smart wristwatch comes up with even more health functions in the future, including monitoring of women’s health and improved heart rhythm control.
Apple Glass: Is the VR push coming from Cupertino?
It’s no secret that Apple is involved in VR and AR. That one is also working on smart glasses, on the other hand, has so far only been a rumor, which, however, does not want to be silenced. Maybe Tim Cook and his team will let the cat out of the bag as part of the WWDC keynote and show what they have come up with.
