HHands in your pockets, hands out. Jérôme Boateng, who has become so slim that despite his height he seems almost slender, doesn’t really know what to do with himself when he enters the courtroom in Munich’s District Court I on Thursday morning, in which Beate Zschäpe had to answer. Boateng also knows the hall, around a year ago he was sentenced to a fine of 60 daily rates by the Munich district court for assault and insults to his former partner. For higher earners Boateng, the daily rate added up to 30,000 euros, so he would have had to pay 1.8 million. But not only he – the public prosecutor’s office and the joint prosecutor also appealed against the verdict.
A judgment that the presiding judge Andreas Forstner described as a good judgment on Thursday. He not only expresses his incomprehension about the appeals, but also points out to the professional footballer that he could also deteriorate in the new procedure.
