Controversy
Junmoni attracted controversy on 5 June 2022, when she was alleged to be involved in a corruption case. She was suspended and arrested by the police for the same. She was alleged of receiving money from two contractors from Majuli, Ram Abatar Sharma and Ajit Bora, and both paid Rs 50 lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh respectively. After her arrest, she said that someone had created a conspiracy against her and got her arrested. Her ex-fiance was also arrested in the same case in 2021. They were supposed to get married in 2021.

- In 2021, she filed an FIR and arrested her fiance after he was caught duping people by making them believe that he was a Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam. In an interview, while talking to the media, she said,
I am grateful to the three people who came to me with information about him (Rana Pogag) on how big a fraud he is. They opened my eyes.”
