The Worldcoin (WLD) is launched today
As we explained to you in our presentation of the Worldcoin project, the WLD token primarily supports an identity and financial network. What this means is that it is intended to reliably identify network users, in order to promote the financial integration of the greatest number. The project combines blockchain, artificial intelligence and biometrics and aims to become one of the pillars of the Web of tomorrow.

To access this payment network, users will be required to undergo a retinal scan, in order to have a reliable digital footprint and prevent the creation of fake accounts. This is one of the points that are often criticized by critics of Worldcoin. The use of biometric data to access financial services is indeed seen as dystopian by some.
Once their iris is scanned, users will receive a “World ID”, i.e. a digital passport, as well as cryptocurrency: the famous Worldcoin tokens, or WLD. This is another of the criticisms made of the project, which plays on the lure of profit to collect biometric identification data… Especially in poor countries, especially in Africa and Asia. Moreover, the real usefulness of the WLD remains unclear: it plays its role of bait, but we do not know how it is supposed to support the economy put in place by the platform.

Will the WLD have the expected success?
Still, the titanic project of Sam Altman is being launched, and that Worldcoin is available today. It will be listed on Binance in the next few hours. The initially open trading pairs are: WLD/BTC and WLD/USDT. Important fact: the WLD will not be distributed in the United States, due to the current uncertainties surrounding the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
You will of course have to wait a few hours or a few days to see where the price of the WLD will stabilize. Currently, CoinGecko estimates its price around $2.53. Beyond the announcement of the day, little information was given on the launch, or the schedule for issuing the tokens. At most, we know that 10 billion WLD will eventually be offered.
This new project from the creator of ChatGPT shows in any case the appetite that exists for technologies at the crossroads of artificial intelligence and blockchain. Will Worldcoin then become the tool of financial liberation that it wishes to be? It will first be necessary that the real usefulness of the WLD, as well as its functioning, be clarified.
