The FDP chairman Christian Lindner has to the union appeals to become one black-yellow alliance after the federal election in February. “If the Union and the FDP were to say together that we are ready to fight for a majority, don’t vote for the AfD and BSW, but rather give us a mandate so that we can govern without the SPD and the Greens, that would revolutionize the political landscape,” said Lindner the German Press Agency in Berlin.
There are many impatient and dissatisfied voters who could potentially be won over to the center, but who are currently voting for AfD or BSW. “The last thing these people want is black and green.”
“The FDP says much more clearly that black and yellow would be the best constellation for our country. The Union is hesitant because it is afraid that the FDP could benefit too much.”said Lindner. “That seems small to me, because both would benefit from a joint, courageous appearance. The majority in our country wants a government of the center – and that specifically means: without red-green.” He hopes that the Union will correct its election campaign.
