L’Oréal and Meta, 2 giants in their respective fields, are joining forces to create the first startup incubator totally dedicated to the metaverse. Thus, 5 hand-picked startups will be able to benefit from support from professionals at the heart of Station F in Paris in order to carry out their project.
L’Oréal and Meta develop the metaverse
L’Orealthe French cosmetics group, is joining forces with web giant Meta to develop the first startup incubator entirely dedicated to creativity in the metaverse.
The metaverse, this term that we hear more and more about in everyday life, defines all the virtual worlds based on immersion and interactivity through avatars and 3D landscapes. To learn more about this digital revolution, read our page dedicated to the metaverse.
More specifically, the 2 entities will set up a support program aimed at 5 different startups over the period from January to June 2023.
According to the press release, the startups concerned will have to cover a wide range of themes specific to the metaverseranging “from 3D production to augmented, virtual or mixed reality technologies, avatar creation and portability, user experience and other Web3 related topics”.
The 5 startups in question have not yet been selected and applications remain open until November 20.

First-rate support
Once the latter have been chosen by a jury of experts from Meta and L’Oréal, they will benefit from all the resources allocated by the largest startup incubator in the world, namely Station F in Paris, in the 13th arrondissement. Prime location for innovative technologies, Station F has also been chosen by Binance to host its premises in France.
During this announcement last April, Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binancehad declared in particular that France occupied a unique position “to be the leader of this industry in Europe “. A vision that also seems to be shared by Meta and L’Oréal.
More specifically, these startups will benefit from a support from Meta AI researchers and mentorship from L’Oréal. In addition, Station F is in itself a place of exchange and interaction with the many other startups present on site, an additional opportunity for the companies supported to develop their network and bring additional added value to their project.
Laurent Sollythe vice-president of Southern Europe of Meta, underlined the interest of this project which puts the tricolor flag in the spotlight:
