Mallorca plane: on 22 leather armchairs on vacation
Business class on flights is becoming a “mass product”, says the founder of the start-up Travelcoup. He wants to offer wealthy Mallorca holidaymakers an alternative that is already established in the USA.
Mith 180 fellow travellers, including those who are more party-loving, jet off to Mallorca – it doesn’t have to be like this, Niclas Seitz swore to himself. The 36-year-old founder from Aschaffenburg has been sending travelers on vacation by private jet since 2021. Now he wants to introduce a concept in Germany that has long been established in the USA for wealthy vacationers: vacation flights by semi-private jet. This week, his company Travelcoup plans to announce the purchase of five Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft. They can be converted so that there is room for 22 vacationers in leather armchairs.
For the thrifty package tourist, the trip is likely to be too expensive, but Seitz does not have that in mind. “The goal of Travelcoup is to close the gap between private flights and business class travel, although we are priced much closer to business class tickets than to travel by private plane,” he says in an interview with the FAZ
