Microsoft has published a new feature called Recall, which is available on all Copilot+PCs and provides discussions. This software regularly absorbs screenshots from the desktop to simplify the search for previously displayed content.
Despite concerns about data protection, Microsoft introduced the function and assures that all activities remain locally on the device without data transmission to external servers. “Recall changes the way users search and find content on their PC,” explains Microsoft in a blog post.

Users have the choice of activating or foregoing recall. The feature requires active approval and can be selected both in the PC device and according to software updates.
For those who do not want to use recall, Microsoft offers the opportunity to completely remove the function. This can be done using the “Windows features” menu “, whereby the associated files are deleted from the computer. However, Microsoft indicates that some unable to remove files could initially remain on the system before they are finally removed.
