Whether at home, at work, in a café or in the supermarket: Internet access is now available almost everywhere via WLAN hotspots. For many, a mobile phone contract with a few GB of data volume is sufficient. The mobile phone discounter Sim.de currently has an exciting Offer for occasional surfers up their sleeve: the all-network flat rate with 5 GB LTE in the o2 network will only cost 4.99 instead of 8.99 euros per month for a short time. The reduced price applies permanently if you conclude the contract during the promotional period.
The tariff also includes a telephony and SMS flat rate in all German networks. Thanks to EU roaming, you can also benefit from the conditions in other countries of the European Union. However, in order not to fall into a cost trap when surfing, you should note one thing: After the monthly data volume has been used up, 300 MB are automatically added up to three times a month for two euros each. Only then is the transmission speed reduced from up to 50 Mbit/s in the download and 32 Mbit/s in the upload to a maximum of 16 kbit/s. If you want to avoid this hidden surcharge, you can deactivate the data automatic at any time via customer service.

While there is no connection fee with the first option, those who want to stay flexible have to pay a one-off fee of 19.99. However, this is only worthwhile if you only need a bridging tariff.

Tariff assessment from CHIP.de
The Offer from Sim.de is quite impressive. 5 GB data volume is absolutely sufficient for normal activities on the smartphone. The surfing speed of 50 MBit/s should also easily suffice to stream films, series and music on the go. But keep an eye on the data consumption here or have the data automatic deactivated to avoid the additional monthly costs of up to 6 euros.
If you opt for the flexible term, you should also note that the offer only really pays off after a few months. Due to the connection fee incurred, the tariff costs in the first month amount to 24.98 euros (4.99 euros tariff costs plus 19.99 euros connection fee). If you do not need more data volume for the next two years, you can also choose the variant with a minimum term of 24 months and save the one-time price.
In the FOCUS online tariff comparison, there is currently no cheaper all-network flat rate.
