Founded in San Francisco in 2022, the startup Movement Labs is working to build an aggregated blockchain network based on the Move language. Together, let's discover how it is possible to participate in its testnet and potentially receive an airdrop in the form of MOVE or a possible native token from the project.
Movement Labs, the startup that wants to “make blockchain security sexy”
A secure and efficient modular blockchain network
It was in California that Rushi Manche and Cooper Scanlon, two American students, envision an aggregated blockchain network capable of addressing the need for better smart contract security and higher usage rates in the cryptocurrency industryIt is to realize this idea that they decided to launch their startup called Movement Labs in 2022.
To design this network, The two co-founders want to rely on Movean open source programming language developed by the Diem association and supported by Meta. Initially, the language was designed for the Diem blockchain designed by Mark Zuckerberg's firm. A project ultimately aborted by the tech giant in January 2022.
Currently, the Move programming language is best known for its association with Aptos and Sui, layer 1 blockchains focused on low fees and high throughput. However, Movement Labs wanted to go further by building an ecosystem of modular blockchains based on Move.

Towards the launch of a testnet to perfect its layer 2 blockchain network
In April 2023, the startup obtained $38 million in a Series A round led by Polychain Capital, in which the giant Binance also participated. With this fundraising, Movement Labs wants to extend its blockchain network to a layer 2 of Ethereum called M2.
Movement Labs aims to achieve higher levels of security and transaction speeds than incumbent layer 2 operators using MoveVM, the first Move virtual machine for Ethereum. For Rushi Manche, co-founder of Movement Labs, this platform meets an essential need of the Web3 ecosystem:
“Developers no longer have to choose between the trusted Ethereum environment and the security of alternative L1 languages. Movement offers the best of both worlds: the familiarity of an Ethereum L2 language with the enhanced security and performance of the Move language. This allows projects to deploy with confidence, knowing they are protected from common vulnerabilities while leveraging the economic strength of the Ethereum ecosystem.”
To ensure the reliability of M2 and ultimately its modular blockchain network, Movement Labs has launched its testnet. Provided you meet certain conditions, it is possible to participate and potentially receive an airdrop.

How to join and participate in the Movement Labs testnet?
Building the Parthenon: the interactive testnet open to all
It is possible to participate in the testnet launched by Movement Labs through the MoveDrop program which was officially launched on July 30. This is based around an interactive platform where it is possible to participate in the construction of the Parthenon, which will eventually become the mainnet of Movement Labs..
👉 Learn more – What is a mainnet for a blockchain?
First, you can register on MoveDrop via Galxe by following this link. Once logged in, you will be prompted to join a guild. Within each of them, you will be able to complete quests by actively contributing to the growth of the network..
The intuitive interface imagined by Movement Labs for the construction of the Parthenon
Depending on the guild you have chosen, you will be asked to create educational content, develop tools and applications, test features or work harder to grow the community by inviting new members.
If you complete 10% of a quest, you will earn an achievement called “Ethos”, a form of point that will testify to your actions on the blockchain.

The Battle of Olympus: an event for developers
In addition to the construction of the Parthenon, the Battle of Olympus rages until September 17. Still through MoveDrop, Developers can participate in this hackathon where they are invited to discover and exploit the Movement network. So far, more than 750 teams have registered. To register, simply to follow this link.
Throughout the Battle of Olympus, Teams are ranked based on the tasks they perform and the tools they develop to improve the networkThey compete in 5 categories: Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Games and Entertainment, Social and Community Tools, Infrastructure and Development Tools, and finally Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT).
Once the hackathon is over, The teams that stand out will have the chance to be invited to the Movement's Integration DayThis event, organized by the startup, will take place during the next edition of Token2049 on September 18 and 19, 2024 in Singapore.
Is it possible to receive an airdrop from Movement Labs?
For now, Movement Labs does not offer a token associated with its blockchain network. However, if the startup were to launch its native token, It is quite possible that members of his community will be rewarded with an airdrop.

Therefore, by participating in the testnet through the construction of the Parthenon, the Battle of Olympus or other upcoming programs, you accumulate trophies, medals and ethos, and you increase your chances of receiving an airdrop.
Also, Movement Labs is currently conducting a Galxe campaign where you can earn points quite easily. By linking your Galxe account to MoveDropyou can earn points by completing quests, answering questions, visiting certain pages on the Movement Labs website, or by joining the network's Discord server and being active on it.
The latter also allows you to be informed of the progress of the project., the testnet, and the launch of a possible airdrop. Finally, know that you have the possibility of winning trophies by posting “gmove” on X. The information is true, so do not hesitate to put it into practice.
