Sotheby's also wrote that the guitar was featured on the cover of “Supersonic,” Oasis' first single from 1994, as well as in the video clip for the song. Two other guitars played by Noel Gallagher were also auctioned, according to Sotheby's.
At the end of August, the two brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher settled their dispute after 15 years and announced a joint tour for 2025. Concert sales began on August 31, and tickets were sold out after a short time.
The band, founded in 1991 in Manchester in the north-west of England, is considered a co-founder of the Britpop era; their records with hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don't Look Back In Anger” sold millions of copies. The concerts now announced are the first since the rift between the Gallagher brothers, which led to the band splitting up in 2009.
