As the cryptocurrency sector begins to pick up, the metaverse sector continues to attract companies from all sectors. During its annual GTC Nvidia event, the world-renowned company for its graphics cards took a further step towards the implementation of metaverse-related solutions for manufacturers via its Omniverse platform.
A metaverse for industrialists
During the Nvidia GTC, an event organized annually by the company specializing in computer hardware, Nvidia CEO and Founder Jensen Huang has announced a collaboration with Azurethe Microsoft subsidiary focused on cloud computing.
With this alliance, Nvidia hopes to accelerate the development of Omniverse Cloud, its platform allowing the creation of 3D virtual worlds mainly in an industrial setting. According to Jensen Huang, it is important that today’s companies continue to implement new technologies in their production processes to maintain their development:
“The world’s largest companies are racing to digitize all aspects of their business and reinvent themselves as software-defined technology companies. […] NVIDIA’s Artificial Intelligence and the Omniverse Boost Industrial Digitizationustrial. »
For Microsoft, this cooperation will enrich its range of services by integrating Nvidia’s Omniverse into its software suite offered through the Microsoft 365 offer. While its deployment is scheduled for the second half of 2023, its price has still not been revealed.

The dream metaverse of the automotive sector?
Richard Kerris, Vice President of Omniverse, said that this platform proved to be particularly profitable for car manufacturers using 3D design software on a daily basis.
Indeed, these virtual universes make it possible to accelerate the development of vehicles, to build digital replicas of the places of production or run simulations to test vehicle performance.
In this regard, BMW Group Board Member Milan Nedeljković joined the conference given by the founder of Nvidia by announcing full integration of the Omniverse platform into its global production network.
Note that the technological juggernaut has not given the exclusivity of its metaverse to the BMW group. For several years, Nvidia has multiplied its commercial agreements with Mercedes-Benz in order to equip some of its vehicles with artificial intelligence. In January 2023, the automotive group began implementing Omniverse in its factories.
