Over 5000 of your contributions reach us every day. While many portals have discontinued their comment functions in recent years, we are convinced that critical and constructive discussions on current topics are elementary for a functioning democracy. We are therefore taking a different approach and are expanding this area further.
We are redesigning the comment area so that you can exchange ideas with us even faster and more intensively in the future:
On February 8th, we’re replacing the old system and launching the new commenting feature.
A new registration is not required. You can log in and comment as usual with your old data – and this around the clock.
Here we answer other important questions
What changes for you?
We want to speed up the exchange of views. That’s why we’re making sure that your comments will appear even faster under our posts in the future.
In addition, you now have the option of reacting to replies directly in your own thread. The discussions are thus better bundled and at the same time clearer.
Can I continue to use my old account?
You can log in and comment as usual with your old data (email address and password). A new registration is not necessary.
What happens to the old comments and my previous profile page?
Unfortunately, we cannot transfer the old comments to the new system. We will also no longer offer profile pages in the previous form from February 8th. Instead, you will find all of your new posts in a separate section next to the comment field.
Do I have to give my real name?
Please use your full first and last name when opening a new account. With this we want to ensure that members of our community stand by their opinions and guarantee the quality of the contributions.
Abbreviations, nicknames and pseudonyms are still not permitted.
Are the comment rules changing?
Our netiquette remains unaffected by the changes. We continue to make sure that the diversity of opinions but also the good tone in the discussion are preserved. There is no place for hate speech in our comments section. Users who grossly violate the rules will be blocked without giving a reason.
How many characters do I have for my post?
Your comment should not exceed 800 characters. Experience has shown that short and concisely formulated contributions particularly enrich the discussion. Also, the text should not span multiple comments to avoid the character limit.
I have forgotten my password. What can I do?
To do this, please click on the relevant link in the registration window. (You can also find the link in your account: click on the top right) Or on the button with your initials on the top right and select the menu item ‘My Account’. There you will find the “Change password” button.
In both cases, a link will be sent to you by e-mail, which you can use to reset your password.
My question has not yet been answered. Whom can I contact?
If you have problems logging in, please contact: login-support@burda-forward.de
If you have any further questions, also regarding content, our user service will be happy to help you: redaktion@focus.de
