According to a report by “Winfuture”, there have been considerable connection problems at the PlayStation Network since the early morning hours of February 8, 2025. Millions of users report difficulties in login and online games worldwide. Sony is already working on a solution.
Massive problems with PlayStation – multiplayer title not playable
As the website “Allestia” reports, over 12,000 reports have already been received in Germany. The network is impaired in all areas, including online gaming and the PlayStation Store. For example, users complain that they cannot make purchases and transactions, that they cannot call up a video content or that they already have problems when logging in.
It is currently not possible online with other games. Popular multiplayer titles like Call of Duty and Fortnite are not playable. The problems affect all Playstation platforms, from PS3 to PS4 and PS5 to PS Vita.
Sony is working on solution – memories of big hack
Players are currently seeing the error code WS-11449-5, which indicates a network disorder. The Browser version of PlayStation Direct is also not functional. Sony confirmed the far -reaching disturbance. In an official statement it says that you work on a quick solution. Users are frustrated and search for alternatives.
The current failure arouses memories of the big PSN hack in 2011 for many Playstation users. At that time, the network was offline for 23 days and personal data of up to 77 million users were compromised. Most recently, the network was offline in September 2024.
