Amazon and Media Markt are currently offering a popular gadget much cheaper than usual: The OOONO Co-Driver is not a GPS-operated speed camera detector, but a smart extension for the Blitzer.de warning app. Instead of 50 euros, you now pay just under 40 euros. But you should be quick. The offer is only valid for a short time.
Speed camera gadget cheaper at Amazon
The Blitzer.de app is very popular in Germany, but has to be started before every car trip – which is easy to forget, especially on short journeys. The little button called Ooono Co-Driver No1 automatically connects to your smartphone and activates as soon as the car is set in motion. If you approach a speed trap or a dangerous spot such as the end of a traffic jam while driving, the device will emit an acoustic alarm and light signals.
Instead of almost 50 euros, the practical gadget is up to date reduced to less than 40 euros at Amazon – shipping is free. Alternatively, get it at Media Markt for the same price. With other retailers and also with Ooono itself, you have to dig deeper into your pocket for the Co-Driver No1. At this price, the small Warner pays off very quickly, after all, a fine of 50 euros threatens a speed violation of 11 km/h.
Ooono Co-Driver has a catch
Important to know: Speed camera detectors are banned in Germany and many other countries. If you are caught with the device, you could face a fine of 75 euros. The same also applies if you use the Blitzer.de app without an auxiliary device and the police catch you doing so. However, for the Ooono co-driver, the Flash notifications in the app disabled so that it only warns of danger spots such as traffic jams or accidents. In this case, use while driving would be permitted.
You can also find out about speed cameras on your route before you set off. This also works via the app. When starting the journey, however, the warning of speed checks must be deactivated.
