Consensys, the parent company of MetaMask, has entered into a partnership with the online payments giant PayPal to integrate the latter with the various payment methods of the essential Ethereum (ETH) wallet. This feature will initially be restricted to US residents, however, and we don’t yet know if it will expand more widely.
PayPal joins the MetaMask wallet
ConsenSys, the parent company of MetaMaskannounced in a press release that users of the digital wallet could now go through PayPal to buy Ether (ETH). Thus, MetaMask, the most used wallet for cryptocurrencies, will be the first to integrate PayPal into its payment options.
However, this new feature is currently reserved for US residentsand ConsenSys did not specify whether the measure would extend more widely around the world for all users of the famous wallet.

“This integration with PayPal will allow our US users to not only seamlessly purchase cryptocurrency through MetaMask, but also easily explore the Web3 ecosystem. »
This integration could participate in a wider adoption of cryptocurrenciesPayPal being an internationally recognized entity and MetaMask being one of the first gateways to Web3.
This announcement echoes recent news about Stripe, the online payments giant, which has recently integrated a simplified and instant “fiat to crypto” payment solution for Web3 businesses.
