Porn sites pornhub and YouPorn remain closed in Germany

The website of the providers Pornhub and Youporn are still closed to customers of the network operator Telefónica in Germany. The Bavarian Administrative Court (Az. M 17 S 25.478 and M 17 S 25.2135) has decided that the locks are maintained.

The operator company of the platforms, Aylo Freesites Ltd. Seated in Cyprus, tried beforehand to temporarily override the locks. Already in April Aylo failed with similar applications before the Berlin Administrative Court and the Administrative Court of Neustadt on the Weinstrasse.

Porn sites remain closed – years of dispute over inadequate protection of minors

A long -standing dispute over the inadequate protection of minors was preceding. Critics accuse Aylo of implementing no effective age restrictions on the content of their pages. A corresponding requirement of the NRW state media authority from 2020 was ignored by Aylo. As a result, the state media authorities decided to impose network barriers.

Network operators such as Telefónica are instructed to no longer make the relevant porn sites accessible. Despite the locks, there are still ways to access the content of Pornhub and YouPorn, for example via alternative domains, in which “.com” is replaced by “.org”.

Porn sites threaten high fines

For people in France, too, porn consumption has ended on several large sides since Wednesday – at least temporarily. Because Aylo, the group behind Pornhub, Redtube and Youporn, wants to block the content from the afternoon in protest against new French regulations on age control, as local media reported. Instead of the porn, the company only wants to report a statement on the new regulation in the country.

Due to alleged defects in the protection of children and adolescents, the EU Commission is already investigating several porn provider platforms, including YouPorn, Stripchat, Xvideos and XNXX. If the allegations from Brussels are confirmed, companies face high fines.
