ZAccording to US military information, two bases with US soldiers in Syria have become the target of rocket attacks. The Central Command of the US Army (Centcom) announced on Wednesday that three US soldiers were slightly injured in the attacks in the north-east of the country. US forces responded with attack helicopters and “destroyed three vehicles and equipment used to launch some of the missiles.”
According to the information, “two or three” suspected members of pro-Iranian militias were killed in the US counterattack. The missile attacks targeted Conoco and Green Village bases in the oil-rich Deir Essor province. The bases are operated by the Kurdish-dominated military alliance Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is allied with the United States and other Western countries in the fight against the jihadist militia “Islamic State” (IS).
The United States bombed pro-Iranian militia bases in the province on Tuesday. A Centcom spokesman said the airstrikes hit “infrastructure facilities” run by militias linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
