He hit the headlines on 9 August 2022 when he tried to kill himself at his residence in Kolkata. Soon after he hurt himself with a sharp weapon, he posted a live video on Facebook and blamed his wife and mother-in-law for the same. He was rushed to the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital by the local police in the city after his video went viral on social media.
