Vorwerk is building a second Thermomix plant in France. An investment of 57 million euros is planned in Donnemain-Saint-Mamès near Châteaudun in the center of the country, as the company announced on Sunday. 74 people are to be employed. The other Thermomix plant is in Cloyes-sur-le-Loir, also near Châteaudun.
Vorwerk made record sales of 3.4 billion euros last year, with the Thermomix food processor being the main source of sales. In 2021, the company sold 1.5 million devices worldwide.
The “favorable conditions for industry in France” contributed to the decision for the second Thermomix plant, Vorwerk explained on Sunday. In France, the company employs around 2000 people. Another 11,000 work in direct sales for Vorwerk.
Vorwerk, founded in 1883, is a family company based in Wuppertal. In addition to the Thermomix food processor, the company produces Kobold vacuum cleaners, tea makers and cosmetics. The Thermomix is also produced in Wuppertal.
