The small forest in the valley of the Nidda is now an idyllic place for excursions, popular for walking, dog walking and jogging. Hardly anyone knows what happened in the Ginnheim forest almost 80 years ago, when a B-17 bomber of the American Air Force was shot down during the air war over Germany on November 21, 1944.
