Ebay badly needs good news. At the beginning of the year, a law came into force that obliges trading platforms to report private sellers to the tax office if they sell more than 30 items with a value of more than 2,000 euros a year. The company also recently reported falling profits.
The new measure is intended to boost private customer business again. According to Ebay, this would have several advantages, firstly more cheap items on the site and secondly active sellers are also more diligent buyers.
Basically, you can sell private items for free. The previous 35-cent listing fee is no longer applicable, as is the sales commission of 11 percent. Anyone who sells for 100 euros previously had to pay 11.35 euros on Ebay, but these fees are no longer applicable.
However, additional fees may also apply to private users, for example if you select additional options. You can advertise the products you have placed or offer shipping abroad.
Ebay sales: 320 offers per month free
If you do not choose any additional options that are subject to a fee, you can now sell privately on Ebay free of charge. The price achieved for the products ends up in your account.
However, there is a cap on free sales: you can make up to
320
Fixed price and auction offers
with any starting price
Create without incurring a listing fee. Ebay will charge you a fee of 50 cents for all other offers.
Exception: If you place auction offers with a starting price of 1 euro and do not do this for a period of one or three days
another 2,500 offers per month
possible free of charge. So the basement can be cleared out.
