A startup known from DHDL has filed for bankruptcy. Negotiations on the provision of additional funds had previously failed.
Another start-up known from the popular TV show “The Lion’s Den” has to face the bitter path to bankruptcy. Social Chain AG has filed for insolvency proceedings, as the company has confirmed in an official statement.
The board of the start-up no longer sees any positive future prospects for the company and previously failed in negotiations about further financing options. A defaulting backstop investor also failed to meet its payment obligations, further worsening the company’s financial position.
DHDL-Startup Social Chain AG is insolvent – DS Holding GmbH and drtv agency GmbH are not affected
As a result, the capital increase against cash and non-cash contributions resolved on July 21 will no longer be carried out. In addition, Executive Board member Stefan Kiwit resigned from his position with immediate effect.
The board of the start-up is currently planning to apply for self-administration. Fortunately, DS Holding GmbH and its subsidiaries as well as drtv ageny GmbH remain unaffected and continue to conduct business operations without restrictions.
However, the future of the other associated companies will be decided at short notice.
