Tokio Hotel performed at the Deichbrand Festival near Cuxhaven on Friday evening. It was the band’s first appearance at a German festival – but the technology didn’t play along. As the “Cuxhavener Nachrichten” reported, the rain on Friday could have been the reason for the sound problems.
The show was supposed to last about an hour, but right in the middle there was a total breakdown of the technology and radio silence from the stage: the band was only able to complete part of their program.
“We are so sorry. We have prepared such an awesome set for you,” said singer Bill Kaulitz. “We’re not even halfway there yet. But unfortunately we have to get off the stage right away.” Then Tokio Hotel played the hit “Through the Monsoon”.
Heidi Klum is there
During the show, the singer had said: “This is our very first festival in Germany ever.” Because of the technical problems, many fans left this concert.
Heidi Klum accompanied her husband Tom Kaulitz to the performance of his band Tokio Hotel at the music festival Deichbrand and went up the stairs to the stage with the band. In her Instagram story she then shared videos taken next to the stage.
According to the organizer, tickets for the four-day Deichbrand Festival are sold out this year. Tokio Hotel are also expected as a music act at Christopher Street Day in Berlin on Saturday.
