Rossmann is currently informing customers about a recall. An increased value of bitter almonds was also detected in the “enerBiO spicy almonds”, which can lead to the release of hydrocyanic acid when consumed. When they are consumed, hydrocyanic acid is released, which can lead to symptoms of poisoning such as headaches, nausea or vomiting.
Affected here are the BBD 01/01/2024 (batch number 0722122804) and 01/15/2024 (batch numbers 0723010916 and 1423010310).
Almond recall: dm is also withdrawing products from sale
The drugstore chain dm is also recalling certain packs of “dmBio Spicy Almonds 50 g” because they may contain an increased proportion of bitter almonds.
Goods are affected with the batch number 0722121202 and the best before date (MHD) December 15, 2023 as well as with the batch number 0722112901 and the MHD December 01, 2023. The information is on the back of the packaging in the white box at the bottom right.
Customers should return the affected products – whether unopened or opened – to the dm and Rossmann stores. The purchase price will also be refunded without presenting the receipt.
Anyone showing signs of poisoning should see a doctor. These showed up promptly after consumption, it said.
