Unlimited mobile streaming with prepaid flexibility
Who doesn’t know the disappointment of mobile streaming: In the middle of the most exciting part of the series, the fast internet connection suddenly breaks down because the data quota of the tariff for the current month has been used up. It is particularly bitter when the month is only half over at that point.
A tariff with unlimited data flow is the way out of the dilemma. So far, however, you had to be contractually bound for 24 months, which is certainly not for everyone. The prepaid tariff
It is precisely at this point that you as a user can theoretically fall into the trap: If the amount of 79.99 euros is not available at the time of debiting, the regular costs in the CallYa Classic tariff apply. That is at least 9 cents per minute or SMS and 3 cents per MB. Only when the 79.99 euros on the card are available again will you be upgraded to CallYa Black.
Attractive extra: Free minutes/SMS for calls abroad
The tariff includes a flat rate for phone calls and text messages to German networks, including those from abroad. What is special about the Callya Black is that users also have 500 free minutes or free SMS for calls from within Germany to other countries. The background: Unlike roaming abroad, which is now free (at least in other EU countries), telephone calls and text messages from Germany to other countries still cost an extra fee.
At Vodafone, this is currently 9 cents per minute or 7 cents per SMS. Converted, the CallYa Black extra with the 500 free minutes/SMS has an equivalent value of at least 35 euros (500 SMS at 7 cents) to 45 euros (500 minutes at 9 cents). With regular contact to other EU countries, you can save quite a bit.

That’s what the CHIP experts say about the tariff offer
Frequent surfers and series streamers as well as business customers will certainly welcome the CallYa Black offer from Vodafone. Even if 79.99 euros in four-week intervals are by no means out of the box! In return, the tariff rewards its users with a strong service package that does not have to hide from equivalent tariffs with a contract period, plus the welcome prepaid flexibility.
The tariff is therefore also suitable for everyone who only needs a tariff without barriers and traps for a limited period of time, including people who are only staying in Germany for a limited time. This is where CallYa Black’s special extra comes into play: 500 free minutes or SMS for calls abroad. On the other hand, with the tariff in other EU countries, you only have 75 GB of data volume available – at least at this point it is not unlimited surfing freedom.
However, there is a small cost trap: the potentially unfunded prepaid card at the start of a new 4-week period. In order to avoid unnecessary costs here, you should always keep an eye on your CallYa balance.
