Westland Insurance has grown its presence in Ontario with the purchase of MSP Insurance Corp., effective Nov. 1.
“The acquisition of this P&C brokerage marks Westland’s third partnership in Ontario this year, reinforcing the organization’s strategic growth in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA),” Westland Insurance says in a Nov. 7 press release.
Mississauga, Ont.-based MSP Insurance (operating as Mitchell Sandham Pastor Insurance Brokers) has served the GTA since 1957. The brokerage offers a variety of personal and commercial insurance coverages, including home, auto, seasonal dwellings, cargo, commercial general liability, crime, environmental liability, D&O and E&O, among others. It also offers life and disability insurance and group benefits.
“Their team of experienced brokers is dedicated to offering personalized quality service, including professional insurance advice, ongoing policy maintenance, and claims support,” the release says.
In late June, Westland closed its acquisition of M. Butler Insurance, an independent, full-service P&C brokerage serving Niagara Falls, Ont. The brokerage provides home, auto, commercial, marine and life insurance, along with financial services and other offerings.
Westland recently told Canadian Underwriter it also acquired Calow Benefits Group, a company benefits brokerage serving clients across Simcoe County, Muskoka and the GTA. The brokerage’s product offerings include employee benefits, group retirement and wealth management, among others.
Additionally, Westland has made numerous acquisitions this year in Alberta and British Columbia.
