More than a week after finding the corpses of the Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa, the circumstances of death remain open. As announced by the Sheriffbüro in Santa Fe (New Mexico), the bodies in the autopsy showed no external injuries. Sheriff Adan Mendoza also confirmed on Tuesday that Hackman, Arakawa and her dog did not die from carbon monoxide poisoning. The New Mexico Gas Company discovered a leak on the direction of the stove. However, the defective job was too small to poison the 95 -year -old actor and the 63 -year -old Arakawa.
Two craftsmen discovered the corpses on February 26th in the couple's villa in the hills of Santa Fe. Hackman was in an economic area behind the kitchen. Arakawa's body was found in the bathroom. In addition to the body of the concert pianist and operator of a business for interior design, the investigators discovered a dead dog. The ended animal is said to have been located in a carrying basket. Two more shepherds survived. As the police now announced, the officials had initially confused the dogs. The ended animal was Zinna, an Australian Kelpie. The investigators had initially announced that they had found Bear, the German Shepherd, dead
How long Hackman, Arakawa and Zinna were dead at home has not yet been clarified. The corpses are said to have been used in part. Her hands and feet were “mummified”. The craftsmen who discovered Hackman and Arakawa when looking through the window hadn't seen the couple for two weeks. When examining Hackman's pacemaker, forensic medicine found a “last event” on February 17th.
Whether the actor died in front of his wife remained open despite an autopsy. In addition to Arakawa, which Hackman had married 34 years ago, the investigators found tablets and an open tube with prescription medication. While Hackman's forces recently subsided, the native of Hawaiian is said to have taken care of him intensively. Leslie Hackman, a daughter of the actor from his first marriage to Faye Maltese, described the marriage as “wonderful”. Barbara Lenihan, Arakawa's business partner and girlfriend, also remembered the unusually intimate relationship between Hackman and the musician in the “Santa Fe Fe New Mexican”. In order to clarify the circumstances of death, the investigators have been evaluating the couple and data from mobile phones for a few days. The toxicological report is expected in a few weeks.
