Der Wahlkampf ist stressig: viele Termine, bis nachts auf der Autobahn. Was isst man da? Einige verzichten auf Burger. Zum Beispiel Kanzleramtschef Wolfgang Schmidt, 54, SPD. Er ordert „eher Döner oder Croque“: „Ich bin ja vor allem in Hamburg unterwegs . . .“ Croque ist eine Art hanseatischer Döner, ein vielfältig belegtes soßiges Baguettesandwich. Ebenfalls regional snackt der hessische Bundestagsabgeordnete Klaus-Peter Willsch, 63, CDU. „Ich überlebe durch belegte Brötchen, Kreppel oder Mettwürste, die es bei dem ein oder anderen Termin gibt“, meldet er. Die Ko-Spitzenkandidatin der Linken, Heidi Reichinnek, 36, hat andere Vorlieben. „Im Wahlkampf steigt mein – vegetarischer – Dönerverbrauch exponentiell.“ Im Notfall greife sie auf „Trinkmahlzeiten“ zurück.
