TORONTO, ON, NOVEMBER 29, 2024/insPRESS/ – For nearly three decades, the WICC Ontario Annual Learning Breakfast for Cancer has served as a pivotal event in our industry, rallying us to support colleagues affected by cancer and raise critical funds for research, support, and education. This year’s event truly set a new standard.
On November 14, the 27th Annual Breakfast for Cancer took place at Toronto’s historic Fairmont Royal York, achieving a remarkable milestone with an attendance of over 500 insurance professionals—our highest turnout to date. The event garnered unparalleled support from sponsors, resulting in a record-breaking fundraising total exceeding $30,000, the largest amount raised in the past five years. Attendees were inspired by keynote speakers Dr. Joseph Cafazzo from The Centre for Digital Therapeutics at the University Health Network and Jennifer Wilson from the Canadian Cancer Society.
We also took the opportunity to celebrate WICC Ontario’s Volunteer of the Year, Rose Cugliari. Honored for her unwavering commitment to this event since 2020, Rose is not only a cancer thriver with an incredibly generous spirit but also a respected veteran in the insurance industry, admired by everyone she encounters.
This year’s gathering exemplifies the strength and unity of our community. Let’s continue to build on this momentum, ensuring our collective efforts make a lasting impact in the fight against cancer.
Special ‘thank you’ and recognition to this year’s generous sponsors:
Gold Level: ARSGEM, Liberty Mutual Canada, Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company and Larrek Investigations
Silver Level: Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Dutton Brock LLP, NFP Canada, Accomsure, Weston MB Collision, Applied Systems Canada, MSA Research, Arcon Forensics, Everest Global, Clyde and Co, Sinistar, Norton Rose Fulbright and FCA Insurance Brokers
All funds raised at the WICC Ontario Annual Learning Breakfast for Cancer are directly donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. The Society ensures that donations are precisely allocated to research grants with the highest potential for success, guaranteeing effective use of the contributions.
