Microsoft plans an important change in June: The authenticator's autofill function will be switched off in the coming months, as the group informs in a support article. Users who rely on it have to react quickly to secure their data and switch to alternatives.
Problem of changes: a data loss threatens
From June, the Microsoft Authenticator will no longer save new passwords. In August, all data stored so far could be lost if they are not secured beforehand. This change affects many users who have so far conveniently managed their passwords through this function.
In addition, a password weak point in Windows was discovered, the experts warn for caution. However, Microsoft aims to completely avoid passwords in some online accounts, which increases the need for safe handling of sensitive data.
