With artificial intelligence – photographer shows what dead stars could look like today

With his project “As If Nothing Happened” the Turkish photographer Alper Yesiltas caused a sensation and fascination worldwide. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), he changes pictures of deceased stars as if they were current pictures of today’s celebrities.

Originally, with the project, he wanted to see people he missed and bring them back to life. He told online platform Bored Panda: “I’ve been excited about the development of AI technology for a while and I thought that with it everything imaginable could be shown in reality. When I started tinkering with the technology, I saw what was possible.”

Alper Yesiltas has been taking photos for 20 years. The photographer and lawyer lives in Istanbul and has already received several awards for some of his projects.

His current project, which he also shows on his Instagram account, includes famous personalities such as Heath Ledger, Princess Diana, Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Bruce Lee , Elvis Presley, 2pac, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, Paul Walker and Amy Winehouse.
