sold in eight federal states: biscuit recall at TeDi: Consumption can be harmful to health
TeDi customers must note a cookie recall. Because a harmful substance was detected in the “Aldiva Unicorn Biscuits”, the market has withdrawn the products from sale.
The manufacturer Modern Chocolate GmbH is recalling biscuits because of a possible risk from harmful substances. The product “Aldiva Einhorn-Kekse 220g” from the company based in Dreieich in the Offenbach district is affected, as the official portal “lebensmittelalarm.de” announced on Wednesday.
During product tests, increased levels of 3-MCPD and glycidol were found in confectionery. These substances could be hazardous to health, which is why consumption is not recommended. Products with a best-before date of April 21, 2023 are affected.
TeDi is recalling cookies: products can be exchanged in the branches
According to the manufacturer, the cookies were sold from February 9th to August 31st, 2022. Customers can exchange the sweets for a refund of the sales price of two euros or for another item in any TEDi branch.
The goods were sold in Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.
3-MCPD are chemical ester compounds.
