Canopius Group has announced the appointment of Paul Western as head of US casualty treaty. Western will be based in London and will report to Christopher Gray, head of specialty reinsurance.
Western has more than 30 years of industry experience. He joins Caopius from Optio Group, where he served as chief underwriting officer. Prior to that, Western spent 17 years at MS Amlin Syndicate, most recently as product leader for US casualty and specialty lines and previously as head of casualty insurance.
