The dm drugstore recalls certain batches of its organic pepper. It cannot be ruled out that these are contaminated with salmonella. Affected products should therefore no longer be consumed.
Anyone who has bought organic pepper from dm should check the best-before date on the back of the packaging. Because the product may be contaminated with salmonella, the drugstore chain is recalling “dmBio pepper black, whole grains, 70 g” with the best before dates 09/2025 and 11/2025.
There is a risk of health problems if the dm pepper is consumed
“Consumption of food contaminated with salmonella can cause diarrhoea, abdominal pain and occasional vomiting and a slight fever,” the company said on Wednesday in Karlsruhe. As a rule, the symptoms subside on their own after several days. If symptoms are severe or persistent, sufferers should contact their health care provider.
Customers can bring the items mentioned back to the dm stores and, according to the announcement, will get their money back – regardless of whether the pack is unopened or opened. It is also not a problem if you no longer have the receipt. According to the information, other products in the dmBio range are not affected.
