The new 49-euro ticket for nationwide public transport is valid from May 1st. The bus and train flat rate can already be pre-ordered from countless providers. Since the ticket does not necessarily have to be bought from the local transport association, many providers offer vouchers and discounts for bike, e-scooter and car sharing.
If you don’t like the offer, you can also save directly on the price of the Germany ticket. At the start there is a bonus of 10 euros via the free Android and iPhone app mo.pla. Instead of 49 euros, the ticket then only costs 39 euros for the first month.
49-euro ticket for only 39 euros: How to get the bargain ticket
The mobility platform mo.pla has actually specialized in on-demand public transport and primarily enables the ordering of on-call buses and taxis via its own app. Although this use has so far been limited to a few regions, the Deutschlandticket is also available here.
Just in time for the start of advance sales, the provider launched a campaign called “digital bonus”. If you buy your Germany ticket via mo.pla, you will receive a one-time discount of 10 euros for the first month. Instead of the usual 49 euros, the ticket then only costs 39 euros in the first month.
On request, mo.pla confirmed to FOCUS Online:
“The offer is available to any user and can be applied once per user. This offer is valid until May 31, 2023.”
If you buy the Deutschlandticket from mo.pla, you can also use a so-called “last-minute function” and pause or cancel the ticket up to 24 hours before the end of the month. This allows significantly more flexibility, because most other providers always require cancellation by the 10th calendar day of the current month.
Practical: mo.pla isn’t just about cancelling
possible – the Deutschlandticket can also be paused. If you are on vacation, for example, you can suspend the ticket for up to three months and then simply continue to use it again.
Deutschlandticket can be bought nationwide
Unlike the previous ticket offers from the local transport associations, the Deutschlandticket can be bought nationwide. If you live in Munich, you can also live in Berlin, Hamburg or any other place you like
purchase the ticket in the region.
This creates competition between the various transport associations and providers. It is also not yet certain how the income from the 49-euro ticket will be distributed. The providers are therefore trying to win customers outside of the local tariff area with various campaigns.
