Difference between Transit and Tourist Visa

What is a tourist visa?

A tourist visa is for the one who is traveling for pleasure, to meet family members, for short medical procedures, etc. These are not often employed for work, study, and major business needs. 

The tourist visa restrictions as well as costs vary depending on the country. The fees even vary as well as the application procedure. The main reason for a country to issue a transit and tourist visa is to stop travelers who they think are high-security risks from entering the country. 

An example of a tourist visa is the 30 Days Dubai Tourist visa. This visa is a short-term one that people can get as a single-entry or multiple-entry one. It will be valid for 30 days starting from the arrival date. The visa is even allowed to be extended twice. The extension lets the visitor remain in for an extra 30 days in the country.

If you want to get a UAE tourist visa, this will not directly be issued to travelers like the transit visa as well. You have to apply in advance through the airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or also tour operators that are the approved ones.

Difference between a transit and tourist visa

For a tourist visa, you need to pay fees whilst for some transit visas no fees need to be paid like for the 48-hour one, but you have to pay for the 96 hours one. 

Tourist visas are often extendable whilst transit visas are usually not extendable.
