Dhe Canadian singer Celine Dion has canceled the European tour planned for August due to her neurological illness. “I’m so sorry to disappoint you all again,” she wrote on Twitter.
“I’m working really hard to get my strength back, but tours can be very hard, even if you’re at 100 percent.” It’s not fair to postpone the concerts. But it’s best to cancel everything now until she’s really ready to be on stage again. “I’m not giving up… And I can’t wait to see you all again!” the statement said.
In December 2022, Dion announced in a video on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome. It is a neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and restricts the movement of those affected.
At that time, the singer had already postponed the concerts in Europe. Even before her illness was announced, the singer had canceled concerts planned for March and April 2022 in the USA.
The tour planned for this year in Europe should have started on August 26, 2023 with a concert in Amsterdam. It would have ended – after a break in winter – with a concert in London on April 22, 2024.
