Mr. Yilmaz, under your alias Tanner Leatherstein, you dissect luxury handbags in front of the cameras. How did you come up with this idea?
Three years ago I noticed how many people now carry Louis Vuitton bags. I wanted to understand why. In the shop I first learned that these bags are not made of leather at all, but of cotton fabric. That shocked me: almost 2000 euros, and most of it is not even leather! To see whether they were particularly well made, I bought one – and cut it up. A video I made of it went viral. And people asked if I could cut up this or that bag.
