A Workers at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, who according to Ukrainian sources was kidnapped by Russia a week ago, is free again. The Deputy General Director for Human Resources Valery Martynyuk has been released, the said International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Tuesday evening without giving any further details about the case.
IAEA boss Rafael Grossi also expressed “great concern” about two others kidnappings at the nuclear plant, about which the Ukrainian operator Energoatom had informed in the morning. Accordingly, on Monday, Russian soldiers kidnapped the head of information technology at the nuclear power plant, Oleg Kostyukov, and the deputy general director of the plant, Oleg Oscheka, and took them “to an unknown location”.
The director of the nuclear power plant, Ihor Murashov, was also detained for several days in early October. According to Energoatom, Russia is trying to get information about the personnel files of the power plant employees and to force the Ukrainian employees to work for the Russian operator Rosatom.
