With the Unlimited tariff from Freenet, you can now surf the mobile Internet without limits and make calls to all German networks for only EUR 14.99 per month. Normally, the mobile phone contract that can be canceled monthly in the o2 network costs more than twice as much. But there is a small restriction. We took a closer look at the mobile phone bargain.
o2 Unlimited Smart: More data volume is not possible
Unlimited data volume and a flat rate for telephony and SMS for a monthly price of just 14.99 euros: This strong one Tariff bargains are currently available from the mobile discounter Freenet. For o2 Unlimited Smart, as the tariff is officially called, you normally have to shell out 39.99 euros per month – the time-limited offer therefore brings a monthly saving of 25 euros or 63 percent. Customers can use o2’s LTE Internet at speeds of up to 10 Mbit/s.
Not only can you easily use applications such as WhatsApp, Instagram or online games, but you can also stream music via Spotify, Apple Music and other providers as you wish. It only gets a bit cramped with films and series in 4K resolution, which is noticeable in longer loading times and/or stuttering. The tariff also includes a telephony and SMS flat rate for all German networks – including EU roaming, of course.
There is no minimum contract term, but the monthly fee increases to the regular 39.99 euros from the 25th month. If that’s too expensive for you, you should give notice beforehand.

Conclusion: Strong tariff with a small catch
with the current one Freenet’s tariff offer not only allows you to use the mobile LTE Internet from o2 indefinitely, but you can also make calls to all German networks and send text messages at no extra cost. The monthly price of 14.99 euros is a real bargain considering the conditions offered. However, the transfer rate is limited to 10 Mbit/s in download and 5 Mbit/s in upload. This is sufficient for most applications, but when streaming films in high resolution, the bandwidth limits are reached relatively quickly. All other applications such as music streaming or games should work without problems.
